Lots of exciting new projects to share. 315 Ensemble will be releasing a record with PARMA Records later this year. I will also be writing a new work for the Cazenovia Counterpoint Festival that will premiere this summer.

The premiere of the inner workings of a throat exposed in Brussels was a success! A tremendous thank you to Elsabe, Thallein, the Bozar, Rostrum+, and the International Music Council.
There are several new works set to premiere throughout 2017, stay tuned for details.
I'm also very excited to announce that I've joined Black Tea Music's roster of composers. They will handle all promotion and commissions for my future work.

It has been awhile since I've updated the news section. In that time I've had numerous premieres in England and the US. My recent projects with Project Instrumental, Birmingham Conservatoire Repertoire Orchestra, and many other amazing musicians can be found in the works section.
I'm thrilled to share that I will be writing a new viola concerto for South African violist Elsabe Raath that is set to premiere in December. In addition, Chris Orton will premiere by recorder concerto A Good Noyse in the 2016-2017 season. I will also be writing a new solo work for harpist Natasha Gale.

It has been an exciting start to 2016. On the Verge premiered at the BFE/RMA Research Students' Conference at Bangor University. That was followed up immediately at the Estalgem Ponta do Sol Residency in Madeira, Portugal. An intense, but amazing week with fellow composers and performers of contemporary music and electronics. A new work, we study our past to move forward, premiered at the Cine in Ponta do Sol. There is a recording available on the work's page.
On the Verge was additionally selected for the National Student Electronic Music Event (N_SEME) 2016 at the University of Oklahoma on March 25-26.
There will be several premieres in March 2016 as part of Birmingham Conservatoire's Frontiers Festival. Thoughts of Carolina will be premiered by Project Instrumental. Just Imagine will premiere at the Symphony Hall. A Good Noyse: a concerto for recorder and string quartet and a new work for saxophone and toy piano will also receive premieres. In addition, I will be performing a short set of my singer-songwriter material.

I'm super excited to have been selected for an artist residency in Madeira, Portugal. I will spend a week working with performers who specialize in electronics. In addition, On the Verge will receive its UK premiere on January 6th as part of Bangor University's BFE/RMA Research Students’ Conference. A large new work, Just Imagine, for professional performers, student performers, and electronics will premiere in Symphony Hall in March.

All of the premieres were successful! Tremendous thank you to the musicians and ensembles involved. I'll post audio clips as they become available. I've been working on a bunch of new projects for trumpet and electronics, recorder and string quartet, a new song cycle, and a work for Project Instrumental. These will all be premiering in March and April 2016.
In addition, Holly Roadfeldt will be premiering the work I wrote for her last winter, Two Preludes (For Holly).
I'm gearing up to launch a Kickstarter/IndieGoGo campaign to fund the completion of Between the Search and the Find, the album I recorded this summer in Michigan. In the meantime, you can check out the video for the first single:

Lots of premieres coming up! This weekend my new sound installation, dis-, which is really a remix/reworking of I was walking home... will premiere at The Eden Project in Cornwall, UK on October 9th, as part of the National Union for Students' launch of the "Students Organizing Sustainability" campaign. I'm super excited to have a work inside an indoor rainforest, definitely a unique opportunity.
My newest chamber work, From Dreams, We Emerge which was commissioned by the Wild Rumpus New Music Collective, will premiere on October 16th at the Berkeley Arts Festival. They have been amazing to work with and I can't wait to hear the piece.
Finally, my newest orchestra piece, A horizon intoxicates a body will receive its premiere on November 19th with the Birmingham Conservatoire Composers' Orchestra at Adrian Boult Hall in Birmingham, UK.

Things are as busy as always. I just wrapped up my residency at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park. My new work, I was walking home...or at least I thought I was walking home... will be installed in the Winners Gallery shortly. There are samples of the work available here.
Dorian Green will receive its premiere on September 7 at the Delancey. It has also been selected for the San Jose International Short Film Festival and the Coney Island Film Festival. Details for each performance are available here.
The first Lake of the Woods/Greenwoods camp album was released. Working with the kids was amazing. You can hear samples from the album here.

Dorian Green will have its debut at The Delancey in the Lower East Side on September 7th at 6 pm. I'm super excited about this collaboration with my friend and video artist, Sarah Outhwaite. Everyone involved with the film was great.
All wedding weekends should end with a giant burrito and a two hour nap. Same holds true for non-wedding based weekends.
